History of Windermere
Windermere is a newer neighborhood that had about 84 dwellings before its re-appropriation to the city of Edmonton in 1982. By 2006 the city of Edmonton had established concrete plans for the development of the area. Real estate development took off in the area during the late 2000s. The neighborhood is bounded on the south by Ellerslie Road, on the east by 170 Street SW and Terwillegar Drive, on the northeast by Anthony Henday Drive, and on the west and northwest by the river valley.
