Twin Brooks History

The name Twin Brooks comes from the fact that the neighbourhood is located at the confluence of Whitemud Creek Ravine and Blackmud Creek Ravine. Twin Brooks sits on land annexed to the city of Edmonton in 1980. Residential construction began during the late 1980s and continued through to the 1990s. However, the majority of the construction occurred in the 1990s.

Single-family homes are the most common type of residence by over 80%. These mostly feature attached garages, two-storey designs and split-level designs. Other housing types include condominiums and duplexes. 

The community is represented by Twin Brooks Community League, established in 2002.

Twin Brooks is bounded by Whitemud Creek Ravine to the west, Blackmud Creek Ravine to the north and east, and Anthony Henday Drive to the south.

Twin Brooks Outdoor & Recreational Activities

Twin Brooks has a small park and a stormwater pond. The park features ample space for taking walks beside the pond and through the green spaces and a nice field for soccer and other activities like kite flying.
