Skyrattler History
Skyrattler is part of the Kaskitayo plan area. Just like other neighbourhoods in the Kaskitayo area, Skyrattler is named for Chief Skyrattler of the Winterburn band. The community sits on land annexed to the city of Edmonton in 1974.
Residential construction occurred during the 1970s and 1980s. About 40% were built during the 1970s, while just over half were built during the 1980s. Almost half of the residences are low and mid-rise condominiums and rented apartments. Row houses take up 23%, single-family dwellings take up 16%, and duplexes take up 12%.
Skyrattler is represented by the Blue Quill community league which also represents Blue Quill Estates, Blue Quill and Sweet Grass.
Skyrattler is bounded on the north by 23 Avenue, east by 111 Street and west and south by Blackmud Creek Ravine.

Skyrattlers proximity to Blackmud Creek Ravine provides residents with access to picturesque views of the ravine, green spaces and trails. The neighbourhood has one park: Skyrattler Park.
