Ogilvie Ridge History

The neighbourhood takes its name from James H. Ogilvie (1893–1977), a world war I veteran, a lawyer and long-time politician. Ogilvie Ridge served as farmland prior to urban development. Single-family homes in the neighbourhood were developed during the early 1980s and a few multi-housing options were constructed during the late 1980s. The neighbourhood covers 58.4 hectares and is represented by the Ogilvie Ridge community league. Ogilvie is bounded on the north and east by Whitemud Creek Ravine, west by Rabbit Hill Road and south by Hodgson neighbourhood.
