MacTaggart History
MacTaggart is named after Sandy Auld Mactaggart, a local entrepreneur and philanthropist who was born in Scotland in 1928 and moved to Canada at age one. Mactaggart donated about 100 acres of land to the University of Alberta. Today the land hosts MacTaggart Sanctuary, located a few minutes north of MacTaggart. The neighbourhood is bounded on the north by Magrath Heights neighbourhood, east and southeast by Whitemud Creek Ravine, south by Anthony Henday Drive and west by Rabbit Hill Road.
MacTaggart Recreational Activities
MacTaggart features lots of recreational amenities to keep its residents active and refreshed. Mactaggart Pond is a nice area to interact with nature and admire the stunning sunset and sunrise.
