Keheewin History
Keheewin is named after Chief Keheewin, who signed Treaty No. 6 in 1876. The neighbourhood forms part of the Kaskitayo area. Residential construction in the neighbourhood occurred during the 1970s until the late 90s. About 14% were built during the 1970s, another 62% were built during the 1980s, and about 20% were built during the 1990s.
Almost half (49%) of Keheewin residences are single-family homes. Apartments and apartment-style condominiums account for 36%, row houses account for 10%, and about 4% are duplexes.
Keheewin is bounded on the north by 23 Avenue, west by 111 Street, east by Calgary Trail & Gateway Blvd and south by the Bearspaw neighbourhood.
