Gorman History
Gorman was originally planned as a community commercial and light industrial park within the Pilot Sound Area Structure Plan (ASP). The development and subdivision of the Gorman is guided by the Gorman Community Concept Plan adopted by Edmonton City Council. Gorman is bounded on the south by 153 Avenue, north and east by Anthony Henday Drive, and west by Manning Drive.
Gorman Recreational Activities
Gorman will feature several recreational amenities within the neighbourhood. There are plans to construct a district park in the western part of Gorman and a pocket park in the eastern part. Also, connecting greenways and pathways will provide residents with opportunities for biking, running and walking. Around Gorman, there are already many recreational opportunities. Green Acres Driving Range is within walking distance of the neighbourhood, and it's a great place to practice your drive with your family and enjoy a cold beer.
Residents will be able to access more green spaces and nature trails located south of the neighbourhood. These include Kirkness Park, Fraser Park and North Hermitage Park (dog park). Fraser Ravine is also nearby and provides refreshing nature walks that lead to the North Saskatchewan River.
