Argyll History

The land that is now Argyll was once owned by the Eamer family, which later subdivided their property in 1912. The land was then annexed to the city of Edmonton in 1913. However, development didn't occur until the 1950s, around the end of World War II.

Originally known as Edmonton City Heights, the neighbourhood's name was changed to Argyll in honour of John Douglas Sutherland Campbell, Marquess of Lorne and the 9th Duke of Argyll. The neighbourhood is represented by the Argyll Community League.

Argyll is bounded by Mill Creek Ravine to the north, northeast, and west, and Argyll Road to the south and southeast.
