Ambleside is located within the Windermere Area Structure Plan. The first developments in the neighbourhood occurred after the year 2000 and picked up in the year 2007. Single and semi-detached housing account for 55 percent, row and low-rise housing account for 30 percent and the remaining 15 percent are medium and high-rise buildings.

The neighbourhood is bounded on the north & northeast by Anthony Henday Drive, south by Ellerslie Road, west by 170 Street and Terwillegar Drive and east by 141 Street.

Ambleside Outdoor and Recreational Amenities

The Ambleside neighbourhood offers the perfect environment for active families. Lots of fun can be had both within the community and just outside its boundaries. 

The community has a large park at the center, Ambleside Park. It features an expansive green space great for picnics and dog walking, a playground, a small hill and a few rocks for climbing.

It also features a walkway system that leads residents to other smaller parks in the community, storm ponds and a natural area with trees.
